Jackett's joy

2 September 2012

Boss Kenny delighted at Den success

Delighted Lions boss Kenny Jackett felt that his side were excellent value for their first home win of the campaign as goals from Andy Keogh (2) and Liam Trotter saw off high-flying Middlesbrough 3-1 at The Den.
Speaking to Lions Player after Saturday's game Kenny said: "We caused Middlesbrough lots of problems, created lots of chances and scored three good goals.
At times our passing was good and it's improved as we've gone along.
We're looking for that first clean sheet of the season, but the one goal against was an improvement on where we've been."
Striker Keogh, who led the line intelligently throughout, was praised by the manager, who added: "He's put in a key performance; his work-rate was fantastic and if he works like that I think chances and goals will come for him.
As he's getting older he's getting more confident with his finishing. He's had a good run with us and looks a key player."
