Help Peckham Foodbank - Blue Bus Drop-Off
Last April at the Leicester City game, extreme endurance athlete, Alex Panayotou ran 188km non-stop - the equivalent of from Salisbury to Norwich - to promote awareness of Foodbanks, finishing at half-time during the match. Lions fans helped her raise £1,328.10p.
You may have seen and heard stories in the press recently about how Trussell Trust Foodbanks up and down the country are helping thousands of families who suddenly find themselves in crisis, by providing a minimum of three days emergency food until they are able to get longer term assistance.
Now, we are looking to develop support for our local Foodbank in Peckham. We want to encourage you to donate on a regular basis by providing items of non-perishable food for them to distribute to people in crisis.
You can drop off your donations by leaving them with MSC members on the Blue Bus.
In the near future, people will also be able to bring items along during the week and leave them in the Lions Centre (look out for details).
Millwall fans have been so generous in the past, and this is a way in which we can continue to help people in crisis in our local community.
If you can help by bringing an item along to the Blue Bus on Saturday, these are the things Peckham Foodbank need:
Tinned meat, UHT Milk, Sugar (500g), Fruit Juice (carton), Soup, Pasta sauces, Sponge pudding (tinned), Tomatoes (tinned), Cereals, Rice pudding (tinned), Tea bags/instant coffee, Instant mash potato, Rice, Tinned vegetables, Tinned fruit, Biscuits or snack bars.
Items not needed at the moment: Baked beans, Pasta.
