Millwall's hopes of reaching the last eight of the FA Cup were thwarted as goals in either half from Ryo Miyaichi and David Ngog secured Bolton's passage into the Quarter Finals.
There was to be no giant-killing by The Lions against their then Premier League opponents, who got off to a perfect start when debutant Miyaichi thumped home the opener after barely three minutes.
Wanderers doubled their tally on 58 minutes courtesy of a precision finish from former Liverpool striker Ngog, who drilled home from the edge of the area.
