Midfielder joins ShrimpersMillwall's 2010/11 Player of the Year Tam Mkandawire has joined Southend United on a loan deal until 8th December.
Tam, who was successfully converted from a central defender by Kenny Jackett, made a major impact in his first season in the Championship following his move from Leyton Orient.
However, he was sidelined by a knee injury last season and has not played a first team game for The Lions in over a year.
The move to Roots Hall, where he will link up with former Millwall favourites Neil Harris, Mark Phillips and Dave Martin, gives Tam the opportunity to regain his match fitness by playing games on a regular basis. His versatility will offer Shrimpers boss Paul Sturrock an additional option across the back four as well as in the middle of the park.
