Loan watch

21 November 2012

Tam extends Roots Hall stay

Tam Mkandawire has had his loan spell at Southend United extended until 1st January 2013. The versatile defender, who can also operate in midfield, has featured in their last four games, helping the side to pick up three wins and a draw, including an emphatic 4-0 win over AFC Wimbledon last night.
Tam’s spell at Roots Hall will help him return to full match fitness having not appeared for The Lions since November 2011 when he picked up a serious knee injury.
Steve Mildenhall suffered his first defeat as a Scunthorpe United player last night when they went down 2-1 at home to Bury. The keeper’s arrival at Glanford Park coincided with an end to a run of eight games without a win, and the 34-year-old has gone on to play in each of their last four games, including wins over Walsall and Coventry.
