Kitch day on Saturday

17 August 2012

Lions legend remembered

On Saturday at approximately 2.45pm, the West Stand at The Den will be officially re-named 'The Barry Kitchener Stand'.
As most of you will have already seen, the lettering on the stand has been in place for some time, but the arrival of Kitch's youngest daughter Nikki, along with her cycling buddies, at the end of their marathon ride, seemed the appropriate moment to mark the re-naming.
Nikki, will finish the charity cycle ride from Great Yarmouth to The Den just before kick-off at the Blackpool game, raising money and awareness for local cancer charities.
"The family will all be here for the game," said Millwall CEO Andy Ambler, "And we very much look forward to welcoming them for the official re-naming of the Barry Kitchener Stand.
We all wish Nikki the very best for her cycle ride, which is around 140 miles, and hope that there will be a very good turn-out at the ground to greet her when she arrives."
