Goal-Den opportunity

Kenny targets home win

Lions boss Kenny Jackett believes the margin of improvement needed for his side to become a force in the Championship is not large, but he has targeted a significant improvement in home form if Millwall are to progress.
"Our record at The Den in the last year or so hasn't been good enough. Away from home we have become more consistent and now we must match that on our own patch.
The playing surface here is now excellent and we have to focus on giving our supporters what they want to see on a regular basis going forward. Things did improve towards the end of last season (two wins and a draw from the final three games), but since then we have drawn with Crawley and lost to a very good Blackpool side.
Looking at our performances we have played some good football, created chances and are capable of scoring goals. Clearly we need to stop conceding twos and threes in games, but I believe the level of improvement we need is not significant. We have the opportunity on Saturday to get our first home win of the season against Middlesbrough and it is one we must be determined to take."
