Charity cyclists thank fans

20 August 2012

Nikki Kitchener and her team of charity cyclists were overwhelmed by the reception they received from Lions fans on Saturday when they entered the stadium just before kick-off time.
The six riders, who were raising money for the 'Big Kitch Appeal' funding research into oesophageal cancer, completed the 150 mile trek from Great Yarmouth to The Den before Nikki officially renamed the West Stand 'The Barry Kitchener Stand' prior to kick-off.
Nikki said: "I just can't thank everyone at Millwall enough for their generosity and support. It was an emotional day for me and the whole family. We had raised some £7,500 from charity pledges and we'll let everyone know what was collected on the day. I know dad would have been so proud and we are touched by how loved he was by everyone at Millwall."
