George Alexander scored with nine minutes remaining to secure a point as Millwall's Under 23s drew 2-2 with Watford on Monday afternoon.
The Professional Development League fixture, played at Welling United's Park View Road ground, saw The Hornets turn the game on its head, as Shaqai Forde and Dominic Hutchinson's goals put Watford in front after Junior Tiensia gave Kevin Nugent's side the lead, but Alexander found the net late on to ensure the match was drawn.
Hayden Muller, Tiensia, James Brown and Tyler Burey, who have all been a part of Gary Rowett's first-team matchday squad in recent times, started, whilst Frank Fielding continued his recovery from injury between the sticks.
After early pressure from both sides failed to muster any chances, the first opportunity fell the way of Millwall on 18 minutes, but Harry Ransom headed Sean O'Brien's corner wide.
JJ McKiernan curled just over the crossbar for Watford at the other end, but with 28 minutes on the clock, the opening goal came as the left-footed Tiensia cut inside on his right foot before striking an effort from outside the area past Hornets goalkeeper Dante Baptiste.
Baptiste had to be on guard to stop an Alexander effort as the first-half came to a close, and that proved to be pivotal as with 59 minutes played, indecision in The Lions' defence allowed Forde to slot home from close range.
After a triple substitution by Nugent, The Hornets nudged themselves into the lead as after Hutchinson's initial effort was saved by Jordan Gillmore, the Watford man had a tap-in on the rebound.
However, The Lions were not to be denied, as with nine minutes remaining, Alexander took advantage of a slack backpass to rifle into the far corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
Next up for Millwall's Under 23s is a trip to Queens Park Rangers next Tuesday.
