Under 23s back on track with Sky Blues win

Boateng strikes late to secure three points

16 October 2020

Millwall's Under 23s got back to winning ways on Friday afternoon as Nana Boateng's late winner secured a 1-0 victory over Coventry City in the Professional Development League.

The youngster struck in the 77th minute to wrap up all three points for Kevin Nugent's side.

David Bremang and Sam Skeffington traded shots in a first-half played out without many more clear-cut chances until Joe Wright's spectacular save from a Marcel Hilssner free-kick.

In the second-half, Wesley Jobello and Bremang looked to open the scoring but found Wright in continued good form, with Hilssner nodding wide as The Sky Blues continued to probe, but Boateng found the net 13 minutes from time to secure victory.

Next up for Millwall's Under 23s is a trip to Sheffield Wednesday on 3rd November.

Millwall: Wright, Muller, A. Mitchell, Strachan, Topalloj, Tiensia (Allen 45+4'), Moss, Skeffington, Boateng, O'Brien (Abdulmalik 76'), Alexander. Subs not used: Gillmore, Penney, Briscoe.
