Lions live on Sky...

19 September 2018

Millwall's Sky Bet Championship campaign continues on Wednesday night as The Lions travel across London to take on Queens Park Rangers LIVE on Sky Sports (kick-off 7.45pm).

A 1-1 draw with League leaders Leeds United gave Neil Harris' side their first point in four matches on Saturday afternoon and they will now look to build on that by securing a first away win of the season at Loftus Road.

Harris - who has spoken of the need to "carry the positives" of Saturday into the meeting with Steve McLaren's men - has no fresh injury worries after the weekend's encounter, with only Shaun Hutchinson remaining on the sideline. The manager may opt to freshen up his starting XI, with Jiri Skalak, Tom Bradshaw and Tom Elliott all pushing for starts in attack.

Wednesday's match is all ticket, but The Lions' allocation for the trip to West London has sold out, with over 2,000 fans prepared to back the boys.

Should you not be making the trip to Loftus Road and also not be able to watch Sky Sports' coverage, then full match commentary will be available on iFollow Millwall from around 7.40pm. Due to the game being selected by Sky, the match will not available to watch on iFollow. Click here for more details.

Quick-fire spell sees Lions lose at QPR

Our take on events at Loftus Road...

19 September 2018

Goals from Massimo Luongo and Ebere Eze condemned Millwall to a 2-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday night.

Luongo took advantage of a deflection in the 30th minute to open the scoring and with Loftus Road still celebrating, Eze doubled the lead just two minutes later.

Millwall had enough second-half chances to at least make a game of it, but failed to trouble Joe Lumley, Jake Cooper's header which hit the crossbar aside.

Neil Harris opted to hand Tom Bradshaw his first start of his Millwall career in the only change to the starting line-up, as Steve Morison dropped to the substitutes bench.

The home side started on the front foot and had a chance to take the lead just three minutes in, but Nahki Wells' free-kick sailed over Ben Amos' crossbar.

The R's were getting a lot of joy in the early stages but were unable to find a way to goal - a cross that flashed across the box without a touch the closest they came.

On 11 minutes Bradshaw flicked on for Lee Gregory, but Geoff Cameron was back to smother the striker's attempts to register Millwall's first effort on goal.

A Luke Freeman corner was well-negotiated by The Lions shortly after, whilst Wells blazed another free-kick over with 22 minutes on the clock.

The home side took the lead on the half-hour mark. A low corner-kick into the box was helped on by a deflection from Cooper, with the ball looping up into the path of Luongo, who headed home past Amos.

Two minutes later it was two. Sloppy defensive play allowed a Jake Bidwell cross to reach Eze, who scuffed a shot into the ground and into the net.

Shortly before the half-time break The Lions created some attacking pressure, but Aiden O'Brien was unable to turn Jed Wallace's cross over the line at the back post. Gregory also turned his marker after some neat play between Bradshaw and the aforementioned winger but the ball was cleared behind.

Ryan Leonard then got his head to a cross as the 45-minute mark struck, but Cooper could not take advantage at the back of the pack.

Harris chose to replace Bradshaw with Morison at the half-time break, allowing the striker to make his 300th appearance for The Lions.

Millwall started the second-half much the brighter and began to pepper the Rangers box - Morison stung the palms of Lumley with an effort, whilst Cooper crashed a header from a Williams corner against the crossbar.

At the other end Amos had to stand strong to deny a double Rangers effort, whilst of combination of orange shirts could not get on the end of Conor McLaughlin's cross as The Lions pushed to get back into the game.

On 62 minutes Gregory was chopped down by the touchline and, despite the linesman incredibly choosing to give a foul the way of the hosts, he was overruled and a free-kick was given. Williams curled in, but Morison eventually headed wide.

Millwall continued to probe and with 67 minutes on the clock Gregory laid the ball off to Williams, but the midfielder's shot went wide.

On 78 minutes The Lions had to be at their best at the other end as both Amos and Cooper blocked otherwise goal-bound efforts, whilst the stopper also palmed a Tomer Hemed free-kick behind four minutes later.

Goalscorer Eze tumbled in the penalty area six minutes from time but was shown a yellow card for simulation, whilst substitute Tom Elliott headed over and Jed Wallace skewed wide in Millwall's last chances of the match.
