A look ahead to Tuesday's pre-season friendly...

24 July 2017

Millwall head to Stevenage for their final away pre-season friendly of 2017/18 on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

Following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Barnet at The Hive, Lions boss Neil Harris looks set to use the remainder of his squad at the Lamex Stadium in Millwall's penultimate friendly match.

Tony Craig, Mahlon Romeo, Ben Thompson, Fred Onyedinma, Jed Wallace, George Saville, Aiden O'Brien and Tom Elliott all missed out at the weekend and will therefore look to gain some valuable minutes against Boro.

The substitues' bench may see youth given a chance once more, but Harris told that a stronger squad would make the journey to Stevenage.

Tickets are priced at £12 Adult/Concession*, £10 Under 19s and £5 Under 12s.

(*Concessions are 60+, students, ambulant disabled with carer FOC, members of the Armed Forces/Emergency Services)

Any visiting supporters that require wheelchair access will be allocated within the disabled enclosure amongst the home supporters in the north terrace. Bookings will need to be made in advance of the fixture by contacting Stevenage's own Ticket Office on 01438 223223 and dialing extension 62.

Stevenage are happy to sell away tickets via their Club Shop and Ticket Office in person or by telephone on 01438 223223 (extension 62), with tickets also available on line by clicking here.

Tickets will also be available via the cash turnstiles on the night of the game.

Our take on Lamex Stadium friendly...

25 July 2017

Stevenage and Millwall played out an entertaining 0-0 draw in Tuesday night's pre-season friendly at the Lamex Stadium.

Millwall boss Neil Harris made numerous changes from Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Barnet, with the likes of Tony Craig, Ben Thompson, Fred Onyedinma, Mahlon Romeo and Jed Wallace coming into the side.

Wallace had Millwall's first chance just three minutes in, but his deceiving free-kick brushed the side netting. A minute later, Aiden O'Brien alerted Stevenage goalkeeper Joe Fryer with a low drive. Luke Wilkinson had Boro's first attempt, heading wide from a corner-kick on the ten-minute mark.

Onyedinma broke away from Tom King's long kick downfield on 15 minutes, but the striker could only shoot straight at Fryer.

As the clock struck half-hour, Alex Samuel found the ball at his feet following a bout of pinball in the Millwall box, but he struck wide with most of the goal at his mercy.

Thompson brilliantly won the ball back on the byline two minutes later, but after feeding Onyedinma, the striker's attempt was expertly blocked by the Stevenage defence. Tom Elliott fired over under pressure, too, as The Lions started to play the ball around at will.

In the final action of the first-half, Onyedinma struck the post after good work from Wallace and Romeo.

On 53 minutes, a combination of Wallace and substitute Shane Ferguson teed up Elliott, but his goal-bound header was brilliantly tipped over the crossbar by Fryer.

Nine minutes later, the impressive Elliott teed up Onyedinma, but after he couldn't get a bouncing ball under control, Wallace agonisingly crossed without a Millwall body to tap home an easy opening goal. Fryer then saved superbly once more from Wallace's deflected shot as The Lions upped the ante.

Elliott headed wide on 64 minutes from Wallace's corner as a goal seemed inevitable, but despite the pressure being kept up on the Stevenage backline, Millwall could not force the ball home - Wallace's deflected shot on 75 minutes a prime example.

Both sides traded possession in the last 15 minutes, but neither were able to find the breakthrough.
