Preview | Rochdale v Millwall

A look ahead to Tuesday's Emirates FA Cup replay...

6 February 2018

Millwall travel to Rochdale on Tuesday night for an Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round Replay (kick-off 7.45pm).

Following a 2-2 draw in the original tie at The Den, the two clubs will do battle once more at Spotland for a place in Round Five and a home tie against League Two side Newport County or Premier League high-flyers Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Toffolo, Ben Marshall and Tim Cahill are ineligible for the trip to Lancashire as they were not registered before the first game, but Jason Shackell is available for selection.

Aiden O'Brien and Byron Webster remain injured and out of action.

Tuesday's tie must be finished on the night, with extra-time and penalties available if needed to settle the evening.

Tickets are now off sale for the trip to Spotland. If you aren't making the journey, full match commentary will be available on iFollow Millwall from around 7.40pm. International subscribers will NOT be able to watch Tuesday's action on iFollow.

Millwall exit Emirates FA Cup with defeat at Rochdale

Our report from a bitterly cold Spotland...

6 February 2018

Millwall exited the Emirates FA Cup at the Fourth Round stage with a 1-0 replay defeat to Rochdale at Spotland on Tuesday night.

In a poor game played out on a sandy pitch in freezing conditions, Ian Henderson's 54th-minute goal sent the League One side through to Round Five.

Neil Harris made numerous changes to The Lions' starting line-up on the back of Saturday's victory at Reading and with Friday's visit of Cardiff City in mind, with the likes of David Martin, Jason Shackell and Ben Thompson, who all featured in the original tie at The Den, drafted back into the XI.

Dale could have taken the lead inside the first minute, but after the ball found its way to Andy Cannon, he shot wide.

The home side spent the majority of the opening exchanges on top, but Millwall did register their first attempt on goal as Fred Onyedinma's header looped up onto the roof of the net.

On a bitterly cold night in Lancashire, with temperatures hovering around freezing, chances were few and far between, but Ryan Tunnicliffe did have a shot blocked just after the half-hour mark. Shackell also headed a free-kick over the crossbar.

Five minutes into the second-half, Tunnicliffe tried his luck from range, but he could only find the reach of Rochdale goalkeeper Josh Lillis. At the other end, Shackell had to be at his defensive best to block Mark Kitching's goal-bound effort.

On 54 minutes, Dale took the lead. Calvin Andrew battled with Shackell on The Lions' right-hand side and managed to get a low cross in, which Henderson turned home.

Harris introduced Steve Morison and Lee Gregory into the game just after the hour-mark to give The Lions fresh attacking impetus - and they did so - but Millwall were unable to find a route through to goal.

Onyedinma had a shot blocked, but that was to be The Lions' final attempt of the night as they bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup.
