Local lad Sid, a defender by trade, did feature for The Lions during pre-season at right-back and then produced a storming display at centre-half in the win at Stevenage.
However his hopes of pushing into the first team squad for the start of the 2014/15 campaign were dashed when Sid sustained a fractured a second metatarsal during an U21s game at Billericay, ruling him out of action for over two months.
Sid did make his full Championship, however, just four days before his 19th birthday birthday with a Man of the Match-winning performance against table-toppers AFC Bournemouth at The Den on 28th December 2014.
The defender went on to make a further 14 appearances and collected the club's Young Player of the Year award that season.
His hopes of kicking on and featuring more regularly in the following 12 months were hampered by the blossoming defensive partnership of Mark Beevers and Byron Webster, but when he was called into action - 14 times in total - Sid proved a more than capable deputy.
