Left sided player Scott was recruited by then boss Willie Donachie from his former club Ipswich Town in the summer of 2007. Scott had to be patient waiting for first team opportunities to come his way, but early in 2008 he made a string of appearances at left back in the absence of Andy Frampton and Marcus Bignot.
He continued deputising during 2008/9, whilst also managing to notch his first goal for the club in the FA Cup win over Crewe. Last season saw Scott's versatility utilised to the full, especially towards the end of the season when he played at left-back, left midfield, centre midfield and most noticeably at right-back in the 2010 Play-Off final after Jack Smith and Alan Dunne were ruled out.
