Having arrived in England at the age of three from Malawi, Tamika started his football career as a trainee at West Bromwich Albion, but was released in 2004. Having had two previous loan spells with Hereford United, the defender signed for The U's permanently at the start of the 2004/5 season, and quickly established himself as a first-choice centre half during his first year at the club, weighing in with six goals.
Tam bettered that the following season, missing just four games and chalking up nine goals as Hereford won promotion back to the Football League with a 3-2 win over Halifax. He was subsequently named Player of the Year for the second year in succession.
He was snapped up by Leyton Orient in June 2007, for whom he proved to be a defensive lynchpin during his three years at Brisbane Road, making 114 starts for The O's and scoring 14 goals.
Tam put pen to paper joining The Lions in the summer of 2010 on a two-year contract and enjoyed a remarkable first season at The Den.
Having had to wait until mid-September for his League debut, he was drafted in as an emergency midfielder and retained his place in that unfamiliar position for the rest of the season, being named Millwall's Player of the Year.
