Tough test

Posted on: Tue 09 Mar 2010

Kenny Jackett is demanding concentration, commitment and quality from his players at Carlisle United tonight.
Boss Kenny had mixed emotions following Saturday's 2-2 draw at Walsall as Millwall fought back from a 2-0 deficit to secure a share of the spoils courtesy of Alan Dunne's spectacular last-gasp leveller.
And he is well aware that The Lions must be on top of their game from the opening whistle at Brunton Park if they are to come away from Cumbria with the points.
"We haven't given many sides much this season," said Kenny, "But we gave Walsall a couple of goals and something to hang on to which is not like us.
After that, we came back very well and in the end I was glad we got something out of the game, but we must learn that we cannot give sides opportunities like that.
The first goal was poor, between three of our players their one managed to score. I was equally disappointed with the second.
But we did come back well and Alan Dunne showed a real bravery. He had a shot just before his goal that he hit it high and wide, but he put himself up for a shot again and had to be prepared to fail. To do that is brave, no doubt.
Every single game is vital for us now. We have 12 to go and we cannot allow our opponents to get one better than us. Our full concentration is needed at Carlisle and in every game until the end of the season."
Carlisle manager Greg Abbott is expecting a tough game too as he takes his side into action fresh from a 0-0 draw at Wycombe Wanderers.
"Millwall are a side that don't accept defeat too kindly and they are a really hard working team," he told United's official website.
"They have got some exceptional individuals and the key to the way that they play is the way that they bring them all together as a unit.
We're ready for that challenge and we know that if we can work as hard as they do and pass the ball a bit better than we did on Saturday, then we'll be a match for them.
It'll be a tough game and they are desperate for points for their own reasons, so they will be here with one thing on their mind.
We're looking forward to it though and if recent games with them are anything to go by, it'll be a good one.
