Come on England

Posted on: Fri 19 Feb 2010

Millwall Football Club will host England's forthcoming FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 Qualifier against Spain on Thursday 1st April (7pm).
With Hope Powell's side having reached the final of the European Championships in 2009, they are strongly fancied to qualify for the World Cup tournament in Germany.
A bumper Den crowd is expected to attend at the start of the Easter holidays, and Millwall are pleased to have the opportunity to stage this prestigious fixture, having previously hosted two FA Women's Cup Finals.
England boss Hope began her football career with Millwall Lionesses, and the opportunity to see the cream of the women's game in action in south London will hopefully inspire the next generation of young players.
Lions chief executive Andy Ambler said: "We are very much looking forward to this game. The standard of women's football in this country is improving all the time, and we hope that Millwall can help further raise the profile of women's football.
Our own women's team, the Lionesses, is currently enjoying great success, more than holding their own in the FA Women's Premier League, having won promotion last season, and face Charlton in the London Cup semi-final this Sunday.
The promising youngsters who attend our Girls Academy, in addition to numerous local schoolchildren, members of our local community and of course Lions fans, will enjoy getting behind England and hopefully cheering them to victory against Spain."
Ticket prices for the game are £5 adults and £2.50 concessions.
Details of group rates and date when tickets go on sale will be announced shortly.
You will be able to purchase your tickets in one of the following ways:
