Kent Magpies 0 Millwall Lionesses 7
Millwall Lionesses showed no mercy as they booked their place in the London Cup semi finals with a thumping 7-0 victory over lower league side Kent Magpies.
Emma Beckett opened the scoring for Millwall after just eight minutes with a cool chip over the home keeper.
Beckett then turned provider five minutes later as she set up Leah Jones, who drove a low effort into the back of the net for Millwall's second goal.
There was no respite and by the 25-minute mark The Lionesses had bagged a third courtesy of Dionne Lennon's splendid finsih from a Jones cross.
Goal number four followed on the half-hour mark when a long ball to Lindsey Morgan was played back across goal for Ann-Marie Heatherson to tap in from close range.
Manager Aidan Boxall introduced substitute Lizzie Edwards for Lindsey Morgan at the start of the second half and within minutes of the restart Edwards made her mark with a 25-yard drive to further extend their lead.
Jones grabbed her second of the game on 55 minutes, skipping past three players and then curling the ball into the net.
Victoria Boardman then latched onto a smart reverse pass from Lauren Phillips and coolly slotted home to complete the rout.
Millwall now face Charlton Athletic at Beckenham Town on Sunday 21st February in the semi final. Last season's encounter at the same stage of the competition proved to be a memorable occasion and this is sure to be a mouthwatering tie.
