Ahmet Brkovic has spoken of his relief at ending an eight-month goal drought with the late, late leveller that secured a 1-1 draw for Millwall against Southend United.
Midfielder Brky popped up in the second-minute of injury-time to fire home his first
League goal since hitting the back of the Crewe Alexandra net in a 2-0 home win on 29th December as The Lions registered their first League One point of the campaign on Saturday.
"I was really pleased," said Brky. "It is always nice to score, good to get your first goal of the season and especially nice to score after I missed a couple of sitters last season, including the one at Bournemouth.
We conceded an early goal to Southend and lost a bit of confidence, but it was important not to lose and we came away with a point.
But when we play at home we shouldn't be happy with just one point, we need to be winning all three.
We need to do better than we did against Southend; be more aggressive and pass the ball better. We will work on this at the training ground to try and fix this as we want a win on the board as soon as possible. We do not want a season like last season."
