We are aware that a number of Lions fans will be taking part in this year's London Marathon on Sunday 26th April, raising much-needed funds for a variety of fantastic charities.
We at Millwall want to encourage and assist any Lions supporters taking part as best we can by helping to advertise on the official website who is running, for what charity and how people can sponsor them.
Introducing our first marathon man, Merlin Gard, who says: "I am a season ticket holder in block 37 and am
running my third and final Marathon for APEC, Action on Pre-Eclampsia.
They are a charity that promote safer pregnancies, I got involved with them after losing my wife Lauren 12 hours after giving birth to this condition in May 2006.
The picture here is of me after my first run in 2007.
If you wish to help raise funds for APEC please go to http://www.justgiving.co.uk/ilovelauren
Thankyou
Ray Medley is also taking part on 26th April. Ray says: "I am a 54 year old season ticket holder (West Lower stand) and running the London Marathon hoping to raise some funds for the Kent Association for the Blind (KAB).
KAB is a voluntary organisation providing a service sensitive to the individual needs of those who are visually
impaired helping them to attain the highest level of independence. KAB provides training and support to people who are blind, deafblind or partially-sighted in Kent, Medway and the London Boroughs of Bromley & Bexley.
KAB also provides a free and comprehensive rehabilitation service for people of all ages with any level of visual impairment, from children born with visual impairment to those whose sight is failing due to age or macular degeneration.
KAB is a small charity and any financial support is greatly appreciated - I have a just giving page where donations can be made - www.justgiving.com/raymedley
Many thanks

Danny Prescott adds: This April I will be running the London Marathon. The charity I'm running for is Sense, The National Deafblind and Rubella Association (registered charity 289868), a very good cause I hope you'll agree.
I am currently in the process of raising money and getting sponsorship together as I have to raise a minimum of £1,400. I'm not doing bad so far, but I'm trying to get backing from local businesses too to raise more money.
As a life long Millwall fan/member and Bermondsey boy, I thought I'd turn to my beloved football team for some support. I am aware that Millwall are one of the few clubs that do their upmost to support their supporters and the local community, and would really appreciate any help you can give on www.justgiving.com/

Jane Collier says: Thanks for your great offer to publicise Millwall supporters running in this year's marathon. The photo represents how I feel at the thought of running 26.2 miles!
Myself and my daughter, Carly, are running for the first time in this year's London Marathon.
We secured last-minute places with the Save the Family charity, and as a result have had less time to train and fundraise but hopefully we'll still make it across the finishing line. The charity is
based in Chester and offers temporary accommodation, support and training for homeless families.
This includes referrals from London, and as a result of the current financial climate the charity has more families than it is able to cope with.
We are very much looking forward to being cheered on by the crowds on the 26th and are very grateful to like-minded Millwall supporters able to donate to our just giving web page www.justgiving.com/janecollier2
Kind regards
Tony Johnson explains: When I was approaching 40 last year, I thought what would be a memorable occasion for me to remember? Then I watched last year's London Marathon on television and thought that's it - I'll run the world's most famous race (not that I will win it !! ).
I got through the ballot process, which amazed me. Then I had to pick a charity to run for. I decided on Cancer Research UK. Cancer affects in many ways. You only have to watch the
television recently to see how it affects family life.
People criticised Jade Goody for her reaction to cancer, but she made women aware of these issues, likewise Millwall's own Neil Harris with his experience of testicular cancer.
I would be grateful if you would sponsor me on my justgiving website www.runningsponsorme.

Hi, my name is Paul Hutton, I'm a 47 year young Millwall Fan.
I am running my second marathon for Downs Syndrome.
A pal of mine has a Downs son, and I have seen how difficult this has made their day to day life.
I think as Millwall fans we can all take inspiration from Bomber's fine efforts for his chosen charity.
Let's hope for a win double over the weekend ! if you can give money, here is a link to my site http://www.justgiving.com

Tony Ambite says: I am running the marathon in memory of Morgan Brennan Fisher, and to raise vital funds for COSMIC, (Children of St Mary's Intensive Care).
Morgan's dad Keith, my brother-in-law, is a lifelong Millwall fan, and we -with the help of the generous Millwall fans - have already raised over £20,000 in his memory.
By fundraising for this fantastic charity we have found a way of keeping the bravest little boy, Morgan, in our hearts.
Thanks to all the fans for your support, it means a lot to us all.
