Tony started his career with local side Brighton as an
apprentice, making his debut at 17 years of age. He
joined Millwall in October 1978 and immediately became
a great favourite with the crowd at The Den - his skilful
wing play and accurate crosses causing panic in his
opponents penalty area. He was unfortunately sold by
Millwall along with John Seasman to Rotherham Utd for
£95,000 in the Summer of 1980 and he went on to play over 100 matches
 for them.

 Tony Towner
He joined another Yorkshire side Sheffield Utd on loan
then Wolves paid £100,000 for his talents. He was only
to last one season before he was sold again, this time
to Charlton Athletic and he played 25 league games for
them in 1984/5. He then played for Rochdale and
Cambridge Utd and then it was non-league football in
1986 . He is believed to still be playing and coaching
  with Saltdean Utd.
