After a match that personified the phrase 'better late than never', Kenny Jackett could reflect on the fact his side had made it five wins on the spin.
But it could have been all so different if Neil Harris' beautifully-flighted free-kick had gone to the other side of the post, as Jackett well knows. "There were a lot of draws around the country today and it looked like it would be one here as well," said Kenny.
"We had a lot of clear cut chances, but either we didn't take them or their keeper pulled off a great save."
With Shaun Batt an added threat down the left, The Lions, and the Peterborough loanee in particular, faced an inspired keeper in Andy Marriott.
But Jackett was confident his team would make the breakthrough, adding: "Shaun had about three headers in the first 15 minutes but their keeper did very well. But if you create chances, you will score and I have faith in my strikers."
But in a difficult game, that man Chopper rolled back the years with a stunning late winner from 20 yards. "It was a terrific free-kick. Neil weighted it perfectly and got it up and over the wall superbly.
In tight games you need goal-scorers, and Neil has come up with a great goal to win us the game."
