Fan on the Board Pete Garston brings us up-to-date with his latest monthly report:
Pre-season
It's been quieter this pre-season than it has been the last few seasons. As usual, Kenny has been going about his business quietly as thats the way he believes it should be done.
There is still time for Kenny to strengthen the squad should he feel he needs to and anything could happen between now and the opening game of the season.
I have only seen one friendly so far and everyone looked like they were up for it.
Finally, Richard Sadlier has got his benefit game this Saturday against Middlesbrough.
This will be a well deserved chance for fans to show their appreciation to Sads, and the game has come about following a lot of behind-the-scenes work by many people at the club.
Hopefully he will draw a big crowd on the day, and get an even bigger cheer if he pulls on a Millwall shirt for one last time with a cameo appearance.
Help for Heroes
A fellow fan Karen Bains got in touch with me a couple of months ago with an idea to have a "Help for Heroes Day" at Millwall.
It sounded such a good idea and a great tribute to our serving armed forces that the board agreed to make the the Wycombe game on November 21st the Help for Heroes Day.
The Southwark News are also supporting the day and although we aren't sure yet exactly what the format will be, we at least have a firm date to start working towards.
Hopefully other clubs will in some way recognise our armed forces, but we have been the first to sign up for it.
On that sublject, I met a serving soldier who is walking 1 mile in September for every serviceman/woman who made the ultimate sacrifice in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
I explained about the Help for Heroes Day at The Den and he was over the moon. He also mentioned the support we gave the armed forces recently at Wembley.
