Millwall Trials and Scholarships

Posted on: Tue 04 Mar 2008

It is not the Club's policy to hold trials and players are not usually invited in
for coaching and games until a representative of the Club has first seen
them play and thinks they are of the required standard for our Academy.

If you are with a Sunday Club, you will need to send in your playing details
(i.e. name, address, age, position, clubs played for) and forthcoming
fixtures for the next six weeks (if you have them) so we can pass them on
to our scouts who will do their best to look at you. However, we cannot
guarantee to cover all or any of the fixtures.
You must hold a British or EU Passport or have a "leave to remain"
letter in this country or you cannot be considered

If you are interested in our Academy but you are not presently playing for a
Sunday Club, we suggest that you join a Sunday Club in order to be
 playing regular football.

We rarely give places on the Scholarship Scheme to players who have not
come through the ranks of the Academy. However, if you are over 16, are
interested in the Scholarship Scheme and feel you have what it takes to be
a professional footballer, we would expect you to send in your playing
 details and forthcoming fixtures.

When players in our Academy have reached the age of 16, the best are
then offered a place on our Scholarship Scheme. It is much harder to have
a chance to gain a placement at Scholarship level unless you are a very
exceptional player  because there are more opportunities afforded to the
younger age groups. Under 16/17 players are encouraged to join a senior
amateur/non-league club where there is a good chance of being seen
 by scouts at all levels.

Details of fixtures are welcome and should be addressed to the Academy
Office with a contact name and address. We cannot guarantee you will be
offered the chance to train with the Academy but all fixtures will be
passed on to our local representatives.

Any communication should be sent to:

The Academy Office, Millwall FC Training Ground,
Calmont Road (off Ashgrove Road), Bromley Hill, Bromley,
 Kent, BR1 4BZ
.
