Millwall U18s 0 Crystal Palace U18s 1

Last Friday Scott Fitzgerald's U18s side entertained near neighbours Crystal Palace in their final pre-season Friendly match at the Calmont Road Training Ground.
Unfortunately the young Lions were narrowly beaten by a goal in the final minute of the match.
Both sides contributed to a keenly contested affair, but it was Millwall who had by far the most possession and created the best chances during the 90 minutes.
In the early exchanges frontman Tobi Alibi was thwarted by a timely challenge as be drove in on the keeper and strike partner Connor French was unfortunate not to be able to latch onto a pass after some clever interplay involving David Adedipe and Alibi.
Alibi was also instrumental in setting up midfielder Jake Gallacher for an effort on goal which was somehow cleared off the line with the Palace keeper well beaten.
Between the 25th and 40th minutes of the first half Millwall were in the ascendancy and forced a series of corners taken by Jack Samoutis which the home side were just unable to convert.
Central defender Jake Goodman was the first to see his header smuggled away off the Palace goal line. Gallacher then headed an effort wide from another precision Samoutis delivery and French saw his header graze the crossbar from yet another corner.
Millwall had a great opportunity to break the deadlock early in the second half when midfielder Liam Kingsmill was brought down in the Palace box.
Kingsmill elected to take the penalty himself but the Palace keeper correctly guessed which way to go and made the save.
The Eagles were denied an opening goal on 70 minutes when goalkeeper Luke Bartlett blocked a well struck shot before the combined efforts of defenders Connor McLaren, Rys Paul and Goodman managed to finally avert the danger.
Late action in the Millwall box saw Goodman perform a goal denying challenge only to get himself injured and consequently substituted.
Unfortunately for The Lions in the last minute of the game Palace took their best opportunity of the match and slotted past keeper Bartlett.
