Chelsea U18s 2 Millwall U18s 1

Millwall made Chelsea battle all the way before the hosts finally edged to a 2-1 League win at their Cobham training ground on Saturday.
Scott Fitzgerald's young lions had a couple of decent scoring chances in the opening half, with Charlie Read heading a Michael Noone free-kick wide and then Ryan James firing an effort narrowly wide.
A probing ball forward by Danny Keen was latched onto by Gary Noel but his run into the Chelseas box was thwarted just as he was about to pull the trigger.
At the other end, Millwall keeper Nicky Jupp did well to deny Chelsea's Dan Philliskirk with a point-blank save after 38 minutes, whilst both Read and Billy Jeffreys made timely interceptions just before the break as the home side finished the opening half in control.
Chelsea made the breakthrough nine minutes after the restart courtesy of a cool close-range finish by Adam Phillip.
The Blues doubled their lead seven minutes later with an excellent solo effort from the lively Philliskirk.
However The Lions refused to roll over and came battling back. Their pressure finally paid off after 67 minutes when midfielder Pat O'Connor placed a shot past former Lions keeper Sam Walker following good work by substitute Keirnan Mason.
Minutes later Noone almost grabbed an equaliser with a superbly struck 20-yard free-kick which Walker did well to push around the upright.
And in Millwall's next attack O'Connor, having received the ball from Gary Bowes, made space only to fire over the bar.
The Lions kept pressing for an equaliser and despite Noel, Noone and Bowes all having shots on goal, they just could not find a way through the Chelsea rearguard a second time.
Team: Jupp, Callaghan (Tefvik, 46mins), Ebsworth, Keen (Rogers, 65mins), Jeffreys, Read, Bowes, O'Connor, Noel, James (Mason, 65mins), Noone.
