Wednesday team news

Steve Lomas is looking to build on Saturday's first Championship point at Sheffield Wednesday with a second consecutive Capital One Cup success at Nottingham Forest.

Once again, though, the Lions' boss's selection options are reduced by injury problems, predominantly affecting forward players.

Steve Morison will not be back in action until after the international break following Saturday's hernia op, while Jermaine Easter (calf), Dany N'Guessan (knee) and James Henry (gastric illness) are all doubts.

"We've only got Scott McDonald, Andy Keogh and John Marquis fit in terms of recognised strikers," admitted Steve, "so we'll have to look at how we try to win the game against Forest while also being mindful of Saturday's League game at Brighton.

"We desperately want to pick up where we left off at the weekend with another positive performance and result to keep us moving in the right direction."

The manager may be boosted by a return to the squad of Liam Trotter for the first time this season, although the midfielder has only had an hour of Under 21 action last Friday so far.

Forest went top of the Championsip table following Sunday's 1-1 draw at Watford, and Steve is under no illusions that they will present a tough examination.

"I'm not sure what sort of team we'll face on Wednesday night because they've got a few options," he added. "But we'll go out there believing we can win the game and providing we can cut out those individual errors there's no reason we can't do so."

Forest boss Billy Davies could make a number of changes as his side look to maintain their unbeaten run to the start of the 2013/14 campaign Jamie Paterson, Ishmael Miller and Matt Derbyshire all came off the bench at the weekend and will be pushing for a place in the starting line-up while Simon Cox and former Lions striker Darius Henderson could be in line for a return after injury.
